Bolloré Logistics successfully completed the transport of over one million protective masks from Vietnam to Réunion. The plane chartered by Bolloré Logistics, a Corsair Airbus A330, took off from Hanoi Noi Bai airport on Saturday 6 June with 1,382 boxes on board, for a total volume of 138 m3.

Since the implementation of the airlift with Vietnam, Bolloré Logistics, a major player in international transport and logistics, has rolled out alternative solutions by harnessing its global network and crisis unit at Roissy CDG airport to meet urgent needs stemming from the Covid-19 health crisis.

Completed successfully thanks to the efforts of the Bolloré Logistics teams in Vietnam, which managed the export operations, and the teams in Réunion, which received and shipped the parcels to the delivery point, this new operation posed a major logistics challenge and called for rigorous organization.

“The main difficulty with a passenger plane consists of finding the right balance in terms of mass and dividing the boxes of masks between the seats and the hold,” said Philippe de Crécy, VP Air Freight Europe at Bolloré Logistics.

Since the start of the crisis, Bolloré Logistics has played an active role in the transport of protective masks from Asia by implementing two airlifts with China and Vietnam. On 31 May 2020, over half a billion masks had been transported via the airlifts, along with other protective equipment including surgical gloves, hydroalcoholic gel, and respirators.
